Chris Longshanks a.k.a. Monolithium is child of hip-hop and a student of contemporary electronic music. Having been the DJ at Lucky Bar, Victoria's longest running club for the better part of the last decade, he's maneuvered from indie rock & new wave through to bass music & hip-hop. Behind the decks Longshanks is an established performer, rocking a diverse swath of crowds. Performing as Monolithium he tweaks his own diced-up tracks and exclusives hammering out rhythms on his Ohm64 midi controller yielding a fluid mix of the best of what the global underground dance has to offer. Monolithium has played alongside Dabrye, Girl UNIT, FaltyDL, Flying Lotus, Gaslamp Killer, dEbruit, Salva & Bok Bok. In 2011, he played MUTEK to a rapturous reception & opened for the Night Slugs crew at Decibel Festival in Seattle.
